Hotspot Shield is a free VPN service provided by AnchorFree. The servers are located in the USA. They use a modified OpenVPN client and inject advertisements into the websites the user browses to.

Similar free VPN service providers include UltraVPN and CyberGhost VPN.

The anti censorship organization Sesawe provides a branded version and support.
