The use for bypassing Internet censorship is that you can minimize the Risks in getting caught by the authorities for bypassing Internet censorship. You can encrypt the VMware file which contains the guest operating system with all its data or revert all changes to the operating system after using it (install bypass software for example). Another similar form to archive that would be the use of a LiveCD.

With the VMware workstation (189 US-Dollar) or a third party application VMX builder (free) or the website EasyVMX free you can create a new virtual machine which you then run with the VMware-player. When you start the VMware-player application it looks like a bootup from a PC. You then have to install the desired operating system which can be Windows or Linux for example. Afterwards you can install for example bypass software and use it as a normal PC. After use just close the VMware application and nothing what you did in the VMware will be visible on your host operating system.
