A Webproxy is a script running on a webserver which acts as a proxy/gateway. Users can access such a webproxy with their normal web browser (like Firefox) and enter any URL in the form located on that website. Then the webproxy program on the server receives that website and displays it to the user. This way the ISP only sees a connection to the server with the webproxy since there is no direct connection.

Webproxies are the most common and easiest way to bypass Internet censorship. You don't have to install your own copy since there are many free servers on the Internet that give you access to their installation. The oldest webproxy program is CGIProxy written in Perl with over 10 years of development. The next one was PHProxy written in PHP.
